  There's such a great deal of things to do at Wilderness Lake including fishing, playing golf, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so it's totally impossible to get bored. All the merry people and the huge number of entertaining stuff to do are reason enough to come here.
This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Natchaug River; an out of the ordinary thing to check out in the vicinity of Wilderness Lake is Halchek Pond Dam. A lot of people
    stay at Wilderness Lake to visit nearby Mansfield Hollow State Park. It's impossible to run out of entertaining stuff to do near Wilderness Lake; being here is good fun any time.
Pine Ridge is a very popular ski area close at hand, and you get a nice view of Village Hill from
here. Wilderness Lake is fantastically popular with people of Willington. Wilderness Lake gets a good deal of water; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February.
Take a side tour to Keene Brook, and Bigelow Hollow State Park is a stunning site any time of year. This is a popular location for folks from Willington, and playing golf is lots of fun at Skungamaug River Golf Club. The good variety of local attractions and such a good variety of outdoors recreation are fine reasons to come.

time of the year highs here at Wilderness Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Wilderness Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Everybody should go for a camping trip every now and then; Wilderness Lake in Connecticut is exactly the place.
While visiting this vicinity in Connecticut it's a good idea to go for a camping trip too. At this campground you will always have a good time. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a great place next to Wilderness Lake. Lakes? Sure, Halchek Pond is around here. Mansfield Hollow State Park is a nice site to stretch your legs a bit, and Quaboag River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by.
This campground is so good. Paddling on Salmon River is so much fun.
