Peppertree Camping, Connecticut   Picturesque Peppertree Camping is a 50 site campground, located directly on the sparkling Natchaug River in Northeast Connecticut.  Just 2 hrs from Boston, or 3 hours from NYC, in the quiet corner - not far from MA or RI, is a gorgeous green getaway.  One of the oldest campgrounds in the area, it has been updated from under the ground - with new water, electric and cable, on up - with a new pavilion, refurbished camp store, laundry, free WIFI, and more.  It is family and pet friendly.  Folks love to fish in the Trophy Trout state stocked stream.  Tubing     is great fun, whether within the campground, or going further downstream.  Kayaking and canoeing are other activities, if the water level is high enough - or it can by enjoyed at Hall's Pond nearby.    Located directly across from the Natchaug state forest, there is lots of wildlife and birds to enjoy, as well as the hiking trails.  The campers enjoy lively, fun BINGO on Sat. nights, the occasional potluck or community campfire.  The last Saturday in July, we hold our annual Camper Appreciation Picnic with lots of food and fun.  Holiday weekends always include a DJ/Karaoke, Kid's games, Horseshoe tournament, BINGO and other special activities.  The Chili Cook-off is held on Labor Day.  For lots more visit our website @ www.peppertreecamping.com Places like Bigelow Hollow State Park are tremendous to take a look   at; the skiing at Pine Ridge is perfect. Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a nice spot. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Peppertree Camping, and the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Peppertree Camping fall into the 10's. Why not go to nearby Havens Ledge Brook while you're here at Peppertree Camping; Sprague Hill is clearly visible from Peppertree Camping. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area close to Peppertree Camping has to offer. A splendid site for whitewater paddling right next door to Peppertree Camping is Quaboag River, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Eastford here. This campground is a delightful site to have a look at. There's whitewater on Natchaug River for all you adrenaline junkies, as expected you could also go to Halls Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. You can run the rapids of Quinebaug River near Peppertree Camping, and going to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Peppertree Camping sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is February.
