If you enjoy whitewater, there is the Stoddard Road to Shepaug River section, a category I-II whitewater sweep on Bantam River, 5.4 miles from beginning  
to end. It can be said that this sweep of Bantam River is a spot for novice whitewater paddling. You ought to check the situation before heading out; whitewater paddling can get perilous.
