Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not pop by Mohawk Pond in close proximity to Housatonic Meadows State Park, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Northrop Trail.

There's such a large number of things to do close to Housatonic Meadows State Park, and to be at this campground is always fun. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Housatonic River; do take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
Mohawk Mountain State Park is a great place, and what would a spot like Housatonic Meadows State Park be without exciting close by highlights like The Ballyhack. At Housatonic Meadows State Park you always meet someone from West Cornwall, and there's whitewater on Shepaug River for all you thrill seekers. Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the entertaining stuff you can do is fishing, swimming, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so probably you want to stay a bit.
If the weather is delightful here at Housatonic Meadows State Park, you can go for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail, and here at Housatonic Meadows State Park you can catch a sight of Quarry Hill.
