Highland Camp Ground, Connecticut

  This campground has everything. When you're here at Highland Camp Ground it's always fun to stop at Mashamoquet Brook State Park; get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Natchaug River. The good people of Scotland like to hang out close by, and needless to say Clover Brook flows through this area. Lakes are delightful; Baltic Reservoir is a lake that's next to Highland Camp Ground, and if you have the time, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth taking a look at.
Some activities here at Highland
    Camp Ground are hiking, fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Famous Connecticut kindness and the exceptionally perfectly run facilities makes the spree here worthwhile.
A visit to Connecticut is not complete
without some camping. You can distinguish Pudding Hill from Highland Camp Ground.
Mansfield Hollow State Park is both tremendous and gorgeous, and it's in the vicinity of Highland Camp Ground; a nice location for whitewater paddling is Quinebaug River. Highland Camp Ground is a relatively wet place ordinarily with a lot of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February.
At Highland Camp Ground through the summer months highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of
 
summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Highland Camp Ground temperatures descend to the 10's. Quite a lot of entertaining stuff to do in close proximity to Highland Camp Ground, and what a glorious site for camping it is.
The glorious variety of local attractions and the nearby outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back over and over. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Highland Camp Ground; Narragansett Trail is a glorious local trail, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Salmon River. Some people camp here during their journey to Mansfield Hollow State Park.
Ok, you've been cooped up too long, you've got to get out of the house, and Highland Camp Ground in Connecticut is such a glorious site.
