American Legion State Forest is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. The caring personnel and the admirably kept up facilities have people coming here. You get a good vista of Ragged Mountain from American Legion State Forest, and Beaver Brook Meadow is an attention-grabbing swamp in close proximity to American Legion State Forest. This campground is a wonderful spot to go to. Hiking is a popular thing to do around American Legion State Forest; County Road Trail is a perfect local trail, and not far from American Legion State Forest you'll discover Barkhamsted Reservoir which is a charming lake. Connecticut has lots of outdoors activities. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. American Legion State Forest is right by the Link Trail, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Richard Trail.
