for you to be in a building every day; you've gotta get out every so often, and Rainbow Lodge in Colorado is the outdoors at its most excellent. This campground has everything. The Silver Creek Trail is a pleasant hiking trail in the neighborhood of Rainbow Lodge, and Rio Grande
has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Through the long summer days here at Rainbow Lodge, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 60's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows all
through the winter for Rainbow Lodge tend to be in the 0's. Near Rainbow Lodge you hit upon the Dry Creek Stock Driveway which is a fine hiking trail, and Walker Draw is another great spot to have a look at close by. A lot of fun is at this campground. Float down the rapids of
San Juan River - East Fork in a kayak.
So many enjoyable things to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too great to be true. Rainbow Lodge is not far at all from South Fork; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Wolf Creek.
