Excellent white-water kayaking on the Crystal River, for the experienced expert only.  Coors Falls at Lead King Basin is a top scale challenge, as is the 2-mile river course from the Crystal Mill.  Somewhat milder is the Crystal River from Marble to Redstone.  Beyond Redstone gets a little hairy. When you're here at Meri-daes RV Park and General Store it's always fun to take a look at Paonia State Park, and Gallo Hill is easy to spot from Meri-daes RV Park and General Store. Not much precipitation falls here at Meri-daes RV Park and General Store; August is the wettest month with most   rain, and the driest of the months is February. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Meri-daes RV Park and General Store, so little time. Take a hike on the Lowline Trail. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sunset Trail, and Mud Gulch is another good spot to have a look at nearby. Just can't get enough of Meri-daes RV Park and General Store. Don't leave Meri-daes RV Park and General Store without first going for a hike along the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway; the smiling folks of Somerset like to hang out nearby. There's tremendous hiking along the Trail Riders Trail, and soar down the rapids of Crystal River in a kayak. During the warm months at Meri-daes RV Park and General Store highs are commonly in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the-10's for Meri-daes RV Park and General Store. Whitewater paddling is fine on Crystal River - South Fork, and if you've had enough of Meri-daes RV Park and General Store, Beaver Lake is nearby. Carbonate Creek flows through this vicinity, and why not head up to Crested Butte and strap some skis to your feet. This campground is so tremendous. Paddling on Yule Creek is so much fun, and Gunnison National Forest is a nice spot to stretch your legs a bit. This is such a tremendous campground. The Hammond Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can take a little tour to Beaver Lake Dam since you're here at Meri-daes RV Park and General Store.
