Lost Burro Campground, Front Range, Colorado

| | We have 50 tent sites, 27 electric sites, 6 full hookup sites, and several different types of lodging, hidden among the pines on 31 acres, in a secluded valley. There is a small stream running through the valley giving you the opportunity to pan for gold. There are several hiking trails starting in the campground, and lots of open space for a leisurely stroll or games. There are ATV trails and fishing about 20 minutes away.
For your convenience our restrooms, heated showers, and dump station are centrally located by the office, along with the ice |
machine, and fire wood. We have supplies, and food available in the office/store.
Your pets are welcome to camp with you at no extra cost, but must never be left alone at your campsite. It is your responsibility to pick up after your pets no matter where you walk them.
| | A trip to Mueller State Park invigorates the soul, and lots of folks from Cripple Creek come here. This campground has so unbelievably much. Lakes are pleasant; Mount Pisgah Reservoir is a lake that's close to Lost Burro Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Indian Trail. This spot, the Front Range, has so much outdoors amusing things. The peak of Red Mountain can be made out from Lost Burro Campground; Lost Burro Campground is right by the Phantom Creek Trail. along the Rule Creek Trail. All through the summer months here at Lost Burro Campground, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here
at Lost Burro Campground. Not much rainfall falls here at Lost Burro Campground; July is the wettest month with most rain while January is commonly the driest month. Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a brilliant local destination here at Lost Burro Campground, and if
you come at the right time of year, South Platte River offers some splendid whitewater. Having a splendid time at Lost Burro Campground is trouble-free. Hiking along the Rule Ridge Trail is good fun, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Arkansas River. So many entertaining
things to do in the Front Range, not enough time. The Barr Trail offers hiking at its best; Eleven Mile State Park is a good spot to go.
