Mesa National Forest is a striking place any time of year, and the Blue Grouse Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby.

This campground has so much cool stuff to offer. A great spot for whitewater paddling close to Lodgepole is Kannah Creek, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Bull and Brown Trail. Just can't get enough of Lodgepole. If you yearn for a little side journey, try Dry Gulch; for you golfers we recommend nearby Devil's Thumb Golf Club. Famous Colorado welcome and the great quantity of enjoyable stuff to do will make you feel magnificent.

in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Escalante Creek. Ready to raise that tent; Lodgepole is a tremendous local campground if you happen to be in Colorado. So many cool things to do at Lodgepole, so little time.
Going for a hike along the Point Camp Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
You don’t have to go far from Lodgepole to catch a glimpse of the water at Garnet Mesa Dam, and there are other spots here than Lodgepole, for example Sweitzer Lake. Sweitzer State
Park is a tremendous location to stretch your legs a bit, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Point Trail.
You can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Powderhorn, and you'll probably meet some folks from Delta here. So many entertaining things
in close proximity to Lodgepole, and when you are here for a while you will feel like a new person. Not much rain falls here at Lodgepole; the wettest month of the year is generally October, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Gunnison River, and do visit Dry Creek while you're here at Lodgepole.
