Heaton Bay - White River National Forest, Colorado

  There are so many amusing things to do near Heaton Bay, and when you are here for a while you will feel completely regenerated. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Sunlight Mountain since you're here, and Harvey Gap State Park is a good location to stop by. Not much rainfall falls here at Heaton Bay; the month with most of the rain is October, and February is when it's the driest.
Take a side journey to Roaring Fork River; a tour to Rifle Falls State Park revitalizes the spirit. The delightful people who run this place and all
    the exciting things to do will make you feel brilliant.

attractions in close proximity and so much stuff to do are magnificent motives to come. For the duration of the days of summer at Heaton Bay highs are typically in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Heaton Bay temperatures sink to the 0's. A campground like this is too great to miss. There are some great whitewater spots on Colorado River, and hiking along the Blue Creek Trail is glorious fun.
