Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Arkansas River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Simmons Peak Trail. Tenderfoot Hill is lovely and can be spotted from Fessler's Mobile Home Park, and Spinney State Park is worth checking out. You'll meet a lot of people from Salida here, and playing golf is lots of fun at Salida Golf Club.
