You completely have to like Dakota Camp. Walsen Crag is clearly visible from Dakota Camp; going for a hike along the West Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. You need to get out; Dakota Camp in Colorado is the outdoors at its best. An afternoon playing golf at Walsenburg Golf Club is always a delight, and the Wahatoya Trail offers hiking at its best. |
This is such a fun place for a campground. The slopes of Eldora are so inviting nobody can resist; hiking along the Black Hills Trail is great fun. Through the summer months at Dakota Camp temperatures are commonly in the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's.
| The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Dakota Camp tend to be in the 0's. It's out of the question to get bored in Colorado if you like the outdoors. Man, is there loads of entertaining things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Dakota Camp is right by the Bartlett Trail, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Apishapa Trail. while enjoying the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. You just must go for the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Not far from Dakota Camp you get some fine water scenery at Martin Lake Dam, and Dakota Camp is close to Lathrop State Park which is a striking site. A lot of folks stay here
for the purpose of being in close proximity to Lathrop State Park. Lots of people from Walsenburg come to Dakota Camp, and Lathrop State Park is both tremendous and beautiful. This campground is a pretty place to take a look at. Dakota Camp is frequently visited by folks
