Take a little trip to Anthracite Creek since you're here at Crystal Meadows Ranch, and Dark Canyon is close at hand, and is a good site. A tour to Crystal Meadows Ranch wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Gunnison National Forest, and the Sunset Trail is a good hiking trail close by. This is such a perfect campground. Lots of folks from Somerset come to Crystal Meadows Ranch,     and on a good day you can take a hike along the Hammond Trail. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Crystal Meadows Ranch. This is such a gorgeous campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Gunnison River - North Fork, and don't leave without stopping by Paonia State Park. Crystal Meadows Ranch is pretty dehydrated mostly; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. The warmest time of the year at Crystal Meadows Ranch arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Crystal Meadows Ranch nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's. There's whitewater on Crystal River - South Fork for all you adrenaline junkies, and   nearby you find the Munsey Ruby Stock Driveway which is a great hiking trail. Very fine water scenery is available at Paonia Dam right next door to Crystal Meadows Ranch, and there are some great whitewater spots on Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork. Lakes? Sure, Paonia Reservoir is in the vicinity, and going for a hike on the Minnesota Pass Trail is always a delightful adventure. This place, Crystal Meadows Ranch, it clearly has so much outdoors exciting stuff. A day on the slopes of Sunlight Mountain is just what you need, and there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Hammond Trail.
