Hiking is a popular thing to do around Boyd Lake; Jug Trail is a magnificent local trail, and Lory State Park is a lovely place any time of year. of year, Big Thompson River offers some splendid whitewater, and if you've had enough of Boyd Lake, Westerdoll Lake is nearby. At Boyd Lake all through the summer highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are typically
in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Boyd Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. Boyd Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout May; February is when it's the driest. The great local attractions and the close by outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back time and again.
