So many entertaining things to do in the Santa Ynez Mountains, not enough time. You'll stumble on a pretty lake called Dennis Reservoir near Wheeler Gorge; in close proximity to Wheeler Gorge you find a golf course called Rancho San Marcos Golf Course. all the wonderful passtime activities beat anything. Lots of people pick this campground for the purpose of being close to El Capitan State Beach.
Wheeler Gorge is right by the Arroyo Burro Trail, and you're sure to encounter some cheerful folks from Goleta here. Wheeler Gorge

California is a delightful outdoors state. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Hiking along the Buckhorn Trail is good fun; Refugio State Beach is a beautiful location any time of year.

Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Wheeler Gorge reach the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 60's; winter nights come with lows in
the 30's to Wheeler Gorge. Wheeler Gorge is typically a rather dried out place; the wettest month of the year is frequently February, that's the one that rains the most while July is frequently the driest month.
What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Why not take a refreshing
hike along the Santa Cruz Trail; El Capitan State Beach is a pleasant site to stretch your legs a bit. Since you're here at Wheeler Gorge why not stop at Redrock Canyon, and the Rattlesnake Trail offers hiking at its best. It's bad for you to be inside all the time; you have to
get out once in a while; Wheeler Gorge in California is a delightful selection.
