We visited Tucalota Springs RV Park the first week-end in February 2007. We liked it a lot. It's a small campground but it is very clean. The sites are large to. All of the sites have fire pits and they have full hook ups. They also

have tent areas. They have a store on the premises stocked with most of the items you may need while camping. There is a solar heated swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball court and a couple of horseshoe pits. There are also
trails to ride your bike on and there is a little lake for fishing. Its catch and release and you will need to purchase a license from their store for $5.00. You won't get cell phone service but if you feel like taking a nice walk up the hill there will be a bench waiting for you and you will get service there. The people who worked there were very friendly. We will definitely go back! Says Sharon-Lakewood, CA

Fellow Campers:

Sorry to say that

my stay at Tucalota Springs R. V. Park was a big disappointment.

They advertise a stocked fishing pond that is catch and release. This man made pond is so overgrown and uncared for that you can hardly find a place on the shore
for your kids to stand, let alone try to fish, and catching anything would first require that they would have to get the bait to penetrate the layers of pond scum and dead cat tails that engulf the small pond.

Not to leave out the most advertized hay ride. The kids were looking forward to the hay ride and when we asked the lady at the desk, she told the people interested to wait by the pond and the ride would start at 1:00 pm. At 1:35 pm I walked over to the store and asked the lady behind the counter what was going on with the ride.

She told me that Jerry, the General Manager, gave the hayrides and that I needed to talk to him. So I walked over to a man standing by a house right next to the spot where 12 people where still standing and waiting for their hay ride. When asked what was going on, he told me he did not see those people standing there and it would have to be a real short ride because it was now way past the time the ride was supposed to start. So after getting his tractor, we loaded up and started the disappointing five minute ride around the camp ground while inhaling Jerry’s cigarette smoke and ashes blowing back on the kids and adult passengers.

would also like to touch on the subject of the advertised kid's petting zoo. The so called petting zoo consisted of a approximate 40 foot by 5 foot high chain link fence that contained a couple of Emu, some turkeys and a bunny of which did not appear to be very well cared for and of which you would not let you kids pet because the were very aggressive toward the people. There was no park supervision at this so called petting zoo and I saw people through in hot dogs and other table scraps to these animals of which I don't think is really good for them. I felt bad for the animals. Needless to say my family, friends and I will not go back to this R. V. Park. And in good Conscious I would never recommend this R.V.Park Says John (Wed, 26 Aug 2009)
