Thousand Trails is positioned in a region with a lot of enjoyable things to do; it is one of lots of great campgrounds in this area.     Thousand Trails is situated in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Lake Spaulding; a visit to Tahoe National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. Among the things you can do near Thousand Trails are hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and fishing, so you won’t get bored. This campground is always a delight. Really glorious skiing awaits you at Royal Gorge; float down the rapids of American River - North Fork in a kayak. There are perfect places to look at along the Big Valley Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Fordyce Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. That right there is plenty of exciting things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Going for a hike on the Italian Bar Trail is always a great   adventure, and Malakoff Diggins State Park is a good place to stop by on a pretty day. Camping in California is such a fun thing to do. The welcoming surroundings and the delightful facilities will make you feel fine. The warmest time of the year at Thousand Trails arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Thousand Trails sink into the 30's. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. At Thousand Trails you always meet someone from Emigrant Gap; get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - South Fork. Near Thousand Trails you discover the Mumford Bar Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and at Thousand Trails you can catch a sight of Texas Hill. This is such a charming campground. If the weather is great here at Thousand Trails, you can go for a hike along the Burnett Canyon Trail, and Onion Valley is also a good location to look at. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great globe it would be. Thousand Trails sees pretty high levels of rainfall; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
