This camp ground is situated in the scenic Santa Rosa Mountains. A visit to Cabrillo National Monument is recommended; golf can be played at Steele Canyon Golf Club. Border Field State Park is worth going to if you're at Thousand Trails; the Corte Madera Trail offers hiking at its     best. There's such a large number of things to do at Thousand Trails including playing golf, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so almost certainly you want to stay for a while. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Thousand Trails. If you fancy a little side tour, try Hollenbeck Canyon, and a brilliant location for whitewater paddling is Los Penasquitos Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Thousand Trails; Pine Creek Trail is a pleasant local trail, and of course, everyone loves Cleveland National Forest. At Thousand Trails you don’t see much precipitation; through March this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The staff that runs this campground and all the entertaining things to do makes the journey here worthwhile. Thousand   Trails is a campground loved by the folks of Jamul. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Santa Rosa Mountains. There's wonderful hiking along the Horsethief Ridge Trail, and you're sure to stumble upon some friendly folks from Jamul here.
