some flowing water close by, Peppermint Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here, and soar down the rapids of Stanislaus River - Middle Fork in a kayak. A lot of people stay at Sonora Trailer Lodge for the purpose of being right next door to Columbia State Park. The staff
that operates this campground and the mass of exciting things to do are a great pull for scores of folks.
If you come at the right time of year, Clavey River offers some wonderful whitewater; Calaveras Big Trees State Park is both great and delightful. Not enough hours in a
day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Columbia State Park is a perfect place to have a look at on a pretty day; a golf course close by is Mountain Springs Golf Club.
Whitewater paddling is not for
everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Tuolumne River, and you might also want to pay a visit to Dragon Gulch if you're here at Sonora Trailer Lodge.
