A great 20.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end whitewater section on American River - South Fork is nearby. This, the Route 193 to Folsom Lake section,   is a class II-IV. If you possess a little bit of paddling familiarity, this section of American River - South Fork could be a great section for your capability. Whitewater rapids are treacherous matters, so you must check the latest conditions prior to departure. At Silver Lake East - Eldorado National Forest you can make out Sacramento Hill.
