River Ranch Campground, Central Sierra Nevada, California   This is the best creekside camping we know of. Spacious sites, clean restrooms, friendly hosts. Highly recommend it. Says S. Visit Duckwall Creek since you're here at River Ranch Campground; a lake nearby is Lakewood Park Lake. River Ranch Campground is a magnificent camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Central Sierra Nevada. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool     stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is both splendid and lovely, and it's near River Ranch Campground, and from River Ranch Campground you obtain a perfect panorama of Mount Eaton. River Ranch Campground is an old favorite with the people of Tuolumne. The pleasant folks working here and all the entertaining things will make you feel delightful. As if River Ranch Campground wasn't sufficient, you can also go playing golf, swimming, fishing, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so running out of amusing things to do won’t happen. So many local attractions and the delightful variety of outdoors recreation will absolutely have you coming back again and again. Lots of fun is at this campground. Columbia State Park is a good place to pop by on a gorgeous day, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid   whitewater of Clavey River. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at River Ranch Campground get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at River Ranch Campground are in the 20's. Nearby Cedar Gulch is a fine place to go if you're at River Ranch Campground, and a magnificent site for whitewater paddling is Tuolumne River. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and Phoenix Lake Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll go for River Ranch Campground. Really perfect skiing awaits you at Dodge Ridge, and enjoy a round of golf at Twain Harte Golf Club.
