Great location even if you want to visit Yosemite. The drive over the Tioga pass is well worth the hour and a half because of the spectacular scenery. You must have four hours to walk the Gaylor Lakes Trail;   it's a splendid walk. John Muir Trail - section 2 is a picturesque great outdoors trail; it's 33.1 miles in length and has an altitude difference of 3,881 feet. A challenging great outdoors trail like John Muir Trail - section 2 ought to take you approximately four days.
