If you come at the right time of year, Merced River offers some wonderful whitewater; there's some flowing water close by, Plumbar Creek is a stream you can explore while you're here. California is a great place for campers. The skiing at Badger Pass is good, and going for a hike
on the Hite Cove Trail is always a great adventure. This place, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Good hiking is available along the Chilnualna Fall Trail.
