McGrath State Beach, California Custom Search   Have you heard about McGrath closing Sept 6th 2011? We've formed a group of campers against this, we have a facebook page at www.facebook.com/savemcgrathstatebeach We've done a variety of things ranging from writing letters to local govt asking for $ help for the park to keep it opened, we made private donations, we've got the park on the news twice in the last week and we are voting for McGrath in the $100,000 parks grant contest, McGrath is currently       in 7th place! The delightful local attractions and such a delightful variety of outdoors recreation are certain to keep you coming back over and over. There's more to do in close proximity to McGrath State Beach other than just hanging out such as whitewater paddling, swimming, fishing, hiking, and playing golf, so you won’t get bored. You have to get out of the house; McGrath State Beach in California       is the outdoors at its best. Lots of people stay at this campground for the purpose of being right next door to McGrath State Beach. Quite a lot of enjoyable stuff to do near McGrath State Beach; it is a pleasant campground.   With its 679 foot height difference it's a scenic hiking trail; the Foothill Trail is 1.7 miles of good backpacking. You ought to schedule two hours to backcountry hike the Foothill Trail.
