Mammoth Mountain RV Park, Central Sierra Nevada, California
|
| | Mammoth Mountain RV Park is located off U. S. Highway 395, and is just 195 miles south of Reno and 40 miles north of bishop. The elevation is 7,500 feet. You can escape from the summer heat to vacation at nearby fishing lakes and streams teeming with fresh-water trout. There are more than 30 lakes in a five-mile radius. Many are accessible by car and some are just a short hike away. Horseback riding, mountain biking, boating and golf are also great attractions in the Mammoth Lakes area.
In addition to the indoor heated pool and spa, we have a 3,500 |
|
square-foot recreation hall. Throughout the summer we have planned activities such as crafts, bingo, daily movies, root beer float nights, and waffle breakfasts. Our recreation hall is one of the sites for the Jazz Jubilee in July and we host a Mystery Quilting retreat in September.
| We also have a great little playground for kids of all ages.
Summertime temperatures average 75-90 degrees in the day and fall to a brisk 50 degrees at night. August and September nights can be quite cool, creating a perfect ambiance for roasting marshmallows over a cozy campfire. Winter temperatures range from 10-40 degrees with mostly sunny skies.
The RV Park is just a short walk to the closest shuttle stop for skiing and other mountain activities. If you'd rather drive, it's approximately a fifteen minute ride to Mammoth Mountain Ski | |

Area. With all the fresh snow, don't forget to bring your chains and winter clothes!
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mono Creek; a magnificent place like Sierra National Forest is too fine to leave out. All the outdoors entertaining
things in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over. Lost Lake is a good lake close to Mammoth Mountain RV Park, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Sherwin Lakes Trail. For the duration of the summertime months at Mammoth Mountain RV Park
highs are mostly in the 80's with night lows in the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mammoth Mountain RV Park plunge into the 0's. This is a glorious campground. A visit to Bodie State Park when
you're here at Mammoth Mountain RV Park is a great idea, and a brilliant place for whitewater paddling is San Joaquin River - South Fork. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of San Joaquin River - Middle Fork; the Mammoth Rock Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby.
And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do right next door to Mammoth Mountain RV Park. At Mammoth Mountain RV Park you always meet someone from June Lake, and beautiful scenery and magnificent skiing is what you acquire at Mammoth Mountain. An average amount of
precipitation falls at Mammoth Mountain RV Park; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month is June. A campground like this is too glorious to miss. Smokey Bear Flat is a perfect spot to check out, and nearby you hit upon the John Muir Trail - section 2
which is a splendid hiking trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Devils Postpile National Monument is a tremendous national park, and if you're a golfer then a nice nearby course is Snowcreek Golf Course.
