This campground is so splendid. Going to Castle Crags State Park in the vicinity of Lakehead Campground is a magnificent thing to do; great hiking is available along the Castle Lake Trail. the Dry Creek Trail is always a nice adventure. The personnel that controls this campground and the skillfully controlled operations beat anything. Not much rainfall falls here at Lakehead Campground; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the
| least moisture. There are plenty of people from Lakehead here at Lakehead Campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Doney Creek is a stream you can stop by while here. Lakes are good; Shasta Lake is a lake that's right next door to Lakehead Campground, and Haycock Peak is a peak you can see from Lakehead Campground. Lakehead Campground is extremely well esteemed by the folks from Lakehead. you never run out of outdoors exciting stuff. A campground like this is too splendid to miss. If time allows, Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Sacramento River.
Outdoors recreation is plentiful, some of the cool stuff you can do is hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and fishing, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Shasta is close to Lakehead Campground, and there's whitewater
on Sacramento River for all you adrenaline junkies. Go for a hike on the Echo Lake Trail, and a trip to Shasta National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. There is so much entertaining stuff near Lakehead Campground, and to be at this place is perfect fun any time.
All through the long summer days at Lakehead Campground temperatures are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Lakehead Campground fall into the 20's. There are great places to discover along the Crags Trail.
