Lake Piru, Sierra Madre, California   A visit to California is not complete without some camping. Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the amusing stuff you can do is whitewater paddling, swimming, hiking, and fishing, so perhaps you want to stay for a while. Around Lake Piru you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls throughout February, and July is when it's the driest. This is in fact a brilliant campground. There's tremendous hiking along the Canton Canyon Trail, and delightful water scenery is available at Santa Felicia Dam right next door to Lake Piru. Lake Piru is close by; the good folks of Piru like to hang out nearby. The Sierra Madre scenery is always striking. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Lake Piru. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Piru Creek, and Arundell Peak is a peak you can make out from Lake Piru. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Lake Piru. Good hiking is available along the Devil Canyon Trail. So much fun stuff close to Lake Piru, and what a brilliant location for camping it is. The welcoming ambiance and the tremendous facilities are reason enough to come here. At last, the time is right for camping again, and Lake Piru in California is exactly what you need. Lake Piru is a   popular spot with residents of Piru. And that's not all you can do here in the Sierra Madre. Go for a hike on the Pothole Trail; soar down the rapids of Piru Creek in a kayak. Lake Piru is right by the Whiteacre Peak Trail, and a delightful site like Castaic Lake State Park is too nice to leave out. Chino Flat is a delightful place to check out, and popping by Hungry Valley State Park is a good thing to do. Lake Piru is close to Dominguez Canyon which is positively worth visiting, and a tour to Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is worthwhile. So many enjoyable things in the Sierra Madre, just incredible. The Agua Blanca Trail offers hiking at its best, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Sespe Creek. Such a tremendous pick of attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. Loads of folks stay at this campground to be near Castaic Lake State Park. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Lake Piru highs are generally in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Lake Piru.
