Lake Perris State Recreation Area, California

| | I am the Parks Department's research writer, and my job is to write the brochure text for each park in our system. Lake Perris State Recreation Area (SRA) is the only name of the park. There is no Lake Perris State Park. The SRA is so large that it is easy to think that it comes in more than one segment.
When you are at Lake Perris SRA you are visiting one of the system's most popular parks. Visitors drive for long distances to enjoy the lake and campgrounds, and to visit the Indian Museum. Local residents love to take advantage of their proximity |
to this park, and it is true that Perris residents are among our many visitors.
Perris Beach is part of Lake Perris SRA, so if you are at Perris Beach that is because you are at Lake Perris SRA. Perris Beach is not a separate entity from Lake Perris SRA. It is only one feature

Gotta ski! Snow Valley is a nice location to do that, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Morgan Trail. Through the summertime, highs frequently are in the 90's at Lake Perris State Recreation Area. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 60's with temperatures at Lake Perris State Recreation Area dipping down into the 40's through winter nights. Recreation Area is no exception, and the Trabuco Canyon Trail is a great hiking trail close by. A golf course next to Lake Perris State Recreation Area is North Golf Course; you'll meet a lot of folks from Perris here.
Santa Margarita River is a fine whitewater spot right next
door to Lake Perris State Recreation Area, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Horsethief Trail. Lake Perris State Recreation Area is pretty dried out regularly; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that rains the most, and June on the
other hand is the driest. Coming to this campground is always a nice idea.
This campground is a nice site to pop by. California Citrus State Park is a glorious place to go if you're at Lake Perris State Recreation Area, and while you're here you can take a hike along the East
Horsetheif Trail. Be careful coming to Lake Perris State Recreation Area, you might not ever wanna go home again. Everybody loves Lake Perris State Park; there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Coldwater Trail.
