Lake Francis Resort, Northern Sierra Nevada, California
|
| | Lake Francis Resort Builds Stronger Families
We are nestled in the foothills of Northern California’s gold country, 30 miles NE of the Marysville/Yuba City area and 30 miles SE of Oroville, at approximately 1700 feet in elevation. Lake Francis Resort offers a variety of accommodations, including tent camping, RV camping, and cabins.
Do you remember the first time you went camping? How the acrid smoke tingled your nose while you roasted marshmallows over the fire? The multitude of stars sparkling through the trees while the full moon cast |
shadows in the night? How you snuggled into the warmth of your parent’s hug in the evening chill?
Unfortunately, many children don’t have memories such as these. Some kids didn’t get to experience the togetherness that family camping provides. There are children who weren’t
| allowed the fun, adventure and mystery camping offers.
Lake Francis Resort believes these under-privileged kids should experience the excitement of camp. Environmental Alternatives (EA), a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to building better and stronger families, operates Lake Francis Resort. EA provides residential care for over 600 foster kids in northern California. As a non-profit institution, all proceeds from Lake Francis Resort’s many operations go to providing that camp experience for foster children. Getting those kids to camp | |
|
will take the assistance of people like you.
Simply by using the various amenities offered at Lake Francis Resort, you automatically help kids. The more often you come to camp, the closer you make that adventure a reality for kids. Bring your group for a meal or rent the
conference facilities, and your enjoyment puts foster children into the memory making experience of summer camp. So, tell you friends, talk to your pastor, convince your club leadership, persuade your civic organization, and plan your next event at Lake Francis Resort.
You
can also make a tax-deductible donation earmarked for Kids’ Camp. You can give a monetary gift or donate useful items such as a canoe, or sporting equipment. Perhaps your club or civic group would consider sponsoring one or more camperships or a specific program at Kids’ Camp.
Instead of accepting an offered discount on your Lake Francis Resort fees, tell the staff you want to designate that portion to Kids’ Camp. Every little bit helps!
Another way you can get involved is by becoming a foster parent yourself. There just aren’t enough families
willing to open their homes to kids in need. Foster children need a safe, positive home environment and you may be just the family that can make a difference!
