Lake Cuyamaca, Santa Rosa Mountains, California

  Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Lake Cuyamaca right next door to Lake Cuyamaca; Cuyamaca Dam is an interesting thing to check out. That right there is a load of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Santa Rosa Mountains has it all. Going for a hike on the Monument Trail is always a perfect adventure; don't leave Lake Cuyamaca without first going for a hike along the Corte Madera Trail.
The annual rainfall here at Lake Cuyamaca is about average; during March this area sees the most rain while June is usually the driest month.
    Be careful coming to the Santa Rosa Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Lake Cuyamaca is near Cuyamaca Rancho State Park which is a lovely place, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Middle Peak Loop Trail. Lake Cuyamaca is loved by the people

Summertime highs at Lake Cuyamaca generally tend to be in the 90's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while the cold winter nights at Lake Cuyamaca are in the 20's. Some of the things you can do here at Lake Cuyamaca are fishing, swimming, and hiking, so probably you want
 
to stick around for a while. This campground is always a diversion. You'll meet a lot of folks from Julian here; good hiking is available along the Horsethief Ridge Trail.
The welcoming ambiance and the delightful quality of everything here are a great draw for lots of folks. California is a delightful location for outdoors people. From Lake Cuyamaca you obtain a magnificent vista of Middle Peak; Cleveland National Forest is a great place to stretch your legs a bit.
Several people camp here in order to be in the neighborhood of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Quite a lot of entertaining stuff to do close to Lake Cuyamaca, and scores of people are fond of coming here to get away. This is such a fun place for a campground.
This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There are splendid locations to explore along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 2, and Little Stonewall Creek is near Lake Cuyamaca and is always a joy to stop at. This camp ground is one of the good places to camp here in the Santa Rosa Mountains.
