Hawk's Nest, Southern Cascade Range, California   The Hawks Nest is a nice and peaceful place to just go relax. We have been there twice and just love it. You are only 25 miles away from Medicine Lake & 15 mile from the Lava Beds. We visited other camp grounds and have not been treated half as nice as we have been here. Dave his wife made us feel like we were at home. We even reserved our spot for the next trip. Hawk's Nest is generally a reasonably arid spot; the wettest     month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that snows the most, and July on the other hand is the driest. For the period of the long summer days at Hawk's Nest temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in the 40's with temperatures at Hawk's Nest dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. This camp ground is one of the nice sites to camp here in the Southern Cascade Range. At last, it's time for a camping trip once more; Hawk's Nest in California is just the place. There's such a vast number of things to do at Hawk's Nest including relaxing, and kicking back, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Going for a camping trip here in California is something you must   do. The caring operators of the campground and the wonderful loads of fun activities have folks coming from all over. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Southern Cascade Range. A tour to Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park when you're here at Hawk's Nest is never a bad idea. There's such a vast number of things to do close to Hawk's Nest; when you're here you're always having a fine time. Lava Beds National Monument is a fine national park, and visiting Modoc National Forest is a great thing to do.
