Not far from Finnon Lake, you'll locate Finnon Reservoir which is a charming lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Finnon Lake; Grizzly Canyon Trail is a magnificent local trail. And that's not everything you can
do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get dripping wet paddling on American River - South Fork, and there's splendid hiking along the Pigeon Roost Trail. Summertime highs at Finnon Lake frequently tend to be in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are regularly in the 50's while Finnon Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Here at Finnon Lake you'll almost certainly meet some people from Placerville, and near Finnon Lake you hit upon a golf course called Camino
Heights Golf Course.
So much amusing stuff to do at Finnon Lake, so little time. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cosumnes River - Middle Fork, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Belix Trail. Good hiking is available along the Bake Oven Trail. This campground is a pretty place to stop at. Go for a hike on the Nevada Point Trail, and a visit to Indian Grinding Rock State Park revitalizes the spirit.
This is such a fun place for a campground. A great place to explore in the vicinity of Finnon Lake is Long Gulch, and why not check out nearby Mosquito Creek if you're here at Finnon Lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Finnon Lake a wet location; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you come at the right time of year, American River - Middle Fork offers some brilliant whitewater, and Marshall Gold Discovery State Park is a nice location to take a look at.
