East Meadows Campground - Tahoe National Forest, Northern Sierra Nevada, California
|
| | East Meadows has been a favorite since my first trip. The area is full of natural attractions. A favorite is to go sit in the small waterfalls just a short hike from the campsite. Beaware that because of the elevation, the campground does not open Memorial Day like most (although they will let you make reservations during that weekend), it's usually still covered in snow until the middle of June. However, once you get there you will see what a couple extra weeks of snow will bring in beauty to the surroundings. Says Andee

to go to Malakoff Diggins State Park if you're here at East Meadows Campground, and a great sight of wonderful Sugarloaf Mountain is available. Lots of rain falls at East Meadows Campground; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is the month
| with the least moisture. Man, is there lots of fun things to do near East Meadows Campground. There's whitewater on Yuba River - South Fork for all you thrill seekers. This campground is a gorgeous site to stop at. Have a great hiking adventure along the Halls Ranch Trail, and Lake Vera is a great lake nearby. If you're here, you might as well take a look at Eagle Ravine; Nevada County Country Club is a golf course nearby. At this campground you will always have a wonderful time. If you're stopping by East Meadows Campground from Nevada City, you | |

won't be the only one, and swing by Gold Run it's a tremendous place to take a look at. Selby Flat is a delightful spot to check out; if you're here you can take a hike along the Green Valley Trail. That right there is a lot of fun things already but it goes on, the Northern
Sierra Nevada has it all. Take a hike on the Lafayette Ridge Trail, and a golf course close by is Quail Valley Golf Course. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Empire Mine State Park is a delightful location
to stop at on a pretty day, and why not take a refreshing hike along the South Yuba Trail. Summertime highs at East Meadows Campground usually tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's,
and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to East Meadows Campground. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Yuba River - Middle Fork, and East Meadows Campground is right by the Humbug Trail.
