| | Having a tremendous time in the Central Sierra Nevada is easy. This is a great region for folks who like lakes. Huntington Lake is a lake close by, and if you come at the right time of year, San Joaquin River offers some great whitewater. Camping out certainly is an entertaining thing to do; Deer Creek, California is a great spot for getting out. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. The Red Mountain Trail is a magnificent hiking trail near Deer Creek; nearby you discover the Deep Creek Trail which is a nice hiking |
trail. This is truly a tremendous campground. A day on the slopes of Sierra Summit is just what you need, and obviously Deer Creek flows through this area. Deer Creek is a top pick campground with folks from Lakeshore. An average amount of rain falls at Deer Creek; January
| is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture. The surroundings of this campground have so much to offer. Summer at Deer Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Deer Creek. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Dinkey Creek, and going for a hike on the Bobs Flat Trail is always a good adventure. This | |

camp ground is positioned in the pretty Central Sierra Nevada. Sierra National Forest is worth stopping at if you're at Deer Creek, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Dinkey Creek. There's a lot of outdoors recreation available around here such as swimming, hiking, whitewater
paddling, and fishing, so there's absolutely no way to get bored. The positive environment and all the fun stuff to do beat anything. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Deer Creek. College Rock is an out of the ordinary location to go to while at Deer Creek,
and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Lakeshore for sure. There is so much cool stuff to do in the vicinity of Deer Creek; if you're trying to find a great spot to go camping for a couple of days, this is a delightful choice. Lots of folks stay at Deer Creek when they come to stop by Sierra National Forest. If you are in California through camping season, you must go camping.
