There is a great hiking trail next to Convict Lake Resort called the John Muir Trail - section 2, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a brilliant national park. On a pleasant day at Convict Lake Resort you can take a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and San Joaquin River - Middle Fork has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. So many entertaining things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too magnificent to be true. For you golfers we recommend nearby Snowcreek Golf Course, and a tour to Sierra National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. Convict Lake Resort is a good site of typical rain; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that snows the most while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The perfect variety of local attractions and the perfect variety of outdoors recreation are good motives to come.
