| | Enjoy our riverfront family campground and RV park on the ''wild and scenic'' Kern River!! Fish year round on one of the finest trout fishing rivers in California. All of our sites have water and electric, and we also have full hook-up sites with water, electric, sewer and cable! Our sparkling clean bathrooms have coin op hot showers. We also have a dump station. We are walking distance to a grocery store, laundromat, restaurants and river rafting companies.
We have large, shaded sites with many being riverfront or creekside. We pride ourselves on |
being a clean, quiet family campground. We are ''quiet'' pet friendly!!
We have firewood, ice and vending machines at the office.

| | Creek is a fine whitewater spot next to Camp James, and some of the water nearby flows, like Caldwell Creek. Camp James gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Camp James, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Nevada, not sufficient time. On a magnificent day at Camp James you can take a hike along the Virginia Trail, and when you're here it's always fun to take a look at Sequoia National Forest.
If you come to this campground, you will have a magnificent time for sure. Nearby Noyer
Canyon is a good place to go if you're at Camp James; if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Bull Run Cattle Drive. This campground has so much. Hiking along the Cannell Meadow Trail is nice fun. And that's not all you can do here at Camp James. During your
tour to Camp James you'll meet some people from Kernville for sure; the skiing at Shirley Meadow is great.
You can run the rapids of Kern River in the vicinity of Camp James; going for a hike along the Tobias Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
This site, the Southern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors fun stuff. The Old Sled Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Camp James, and get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Kern River.
