A lot of fun is at this campground. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Tuolumne River; for you golfers we recommend nearby Mountain Springs Golf Club. An average amount of rainfall falls at Big Meadow; through January this area sees the most rain; July is when it's the driest. site. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Big Meadow. Golf can be played at Phoenix Lake Golf Course, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Dodge Ridge is rather near. The personnel who's always there to help out and all the delightful passtime activities
| are incentive enough to come here. There's such a great deal of things to do at Big Meadow including swimming, fishing, whitewater paddling, and playing golf, so perhaps you want to stay a while. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. This camp ground is one of the good sites to camp here in the Central Sierra Nevada. State Park is a fine spot to have a look at, and there are other places here than Big Meadow, for example Phoenix Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Stanislaus River - Middle Fork; Calaveras Big Trees State Park is a wonderful
spot. There's whitewater on Clavey River for all you adrenaline junkies; you're sure to bump into some smiling people from Sonora here. At Big Meadow through the warm months highs are in the 90's; the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, usually in the 50's. Daytime highs
through the winter are in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Big Meadow fall into the 30's. Such a glorious choice of attractions and the nearby outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back many times. Lots of people stay at Big Meadow when they come to explore Columbia State Park.
