Located at an elevation of 6,000 feet. When you stay at Bear River Campground you can enjoy hiking, swimming, tubing (in the summer time), and fishing. You may be lucky and see wild animals here (though very rare because they are very shy). The wildlife here includes deer, raccoons, foxes and porcupine.

On a delightful day you can have a delightful picnic at the picnic area. You are allowed to have a campfire at this campground. California is a wonderful spot for campers. Bear River
 Campground is a campground pretty frequently visited by folks in Colfax.
A number of folks camp here when they come to visit Empire Mine State Park. As expected there are restrooms here. There's such a vast number of things to do next to Bear River Campground, and when you're here you're always having a wonderful time.
There's a heap of outdoors recreation available in the vicinity such as playing golf, hiking, whitewater paddling, fishing, and swimming,
 
    so probably you want to stick around for a while. So many local attractions and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. Bear River Campground is situated in the Northern Sierra Nevada.

The type II-V Highway 174 Bridge to Lake Combie sector of Bear River is 11 miles long. Don't go whitewater boating on this section of Bear River unless you believe your whitewater boating capabilities are very splendid.
