Shoals State Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Buffalo River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Promise Land Resort a wet place; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest month is January. This campground
is always a diversion. Promise Land Resort is not far at all from Bull Shoals; if you come at the right time of year, Crooked Creek offers some nice whitewater.
