This campground is always a diversion. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Verde River, and hey, Slate Creek is a fine local stream. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Del Shay Trail, and there are plenty of folks from Payson here. Be careful coming to the Mogollon Rim Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Tonto   National Monument is a brilliant national park; while you're here you can take a hike along the Pine Mountain Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. There's whitewater on East Verde River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and do take a hike on the Boulder Creek Trail. That right there is a load of fun things already but it goes on, the Mogollon Rim Mountains has it all. Punkin Center Trailer Corral is right next door to Tonto National Forest which is a picturesque location, and Quartz Ledge Canyon is another splendid site to pop by nearby.
