Aspen - Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Mogollon Rim Mountains, Arizona   Loads of folks choose Aspen so they can go to Lyman Lake State Park. At Aspen you always meet someone from Springerville, and close by you hit upon Robertson Hollow which is a nice location to explore. This is beyond doubt a brilliant campground. Go for a hike on the Escudilla National Recreation Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Black River - East Fork. The positive ambiance and the great     quantity of amusing things to do have people coming here. And that's not all the things to do here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Nutrioso Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at, and Athletic Dome is a peak you can see from Aspen. In Arizona you never run out of outdoors amusing things. Not much rain falls here at Aspen; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and May is the month with the least moisture. Skiing at Sunrise Park is one of those things you just have to do, and Lyman Lake State Park is a magnificent place. Among the things you can do in the neighborhood of Aspen are hiking, and whitewater paddling, so there's absolutely no way to get bored. So much fun stuff close to Aspen; it is one of scores of good campgrounds in this vicinity.   This camp ground is one of the good sites to camp here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains. Aspen is a very popular campground among the residents of Springerville. Summertime highs at Aspen generally tend to be in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Aspen temperatures descend to the 10's. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves.
