There are plenty of things to do in the area if you like the outdoors: hikes, river trips, fishing, walking tours of several hsitoric sites, gold panning, ATV riding, mushroom (morels) and berry picking to name a few. And there are indoor activities as well such as shopping several gift stores, good cuisine, and some interesting drinking establishments. One can camp in a tent or RV or rent a room/cabin.
