Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost, Alaska Custom Search   The Chicken Gold Camp offers kayaking on the nearby Fortymile River, hiking on several local traisl to great panoramas and historical sites, and recreational mining opportunities on their nearby claims which are accessed by hiking or ATVs. There are plenty of things to do in the area if you like the outdoors: hikes, river trips, fishing, walking tours of several hsitoric sites, gold panning, ATV riding, mushroom (morels) and berry picking to name a few. And       there are indoor activities as well such as shopping several gift stores, good cuisine, and some interesting drinking establishments. One can camp in a tent or RV or rent a room/cabin. And they have some fun gatherings such as the   Chickenstock Music Festival in June. Fun place in the middle of no where! Fires are allowed, and you may bring the cat to Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost because you are welcome to bring animals. There are pleasant kid's things to do that are enjoyable, and naturally there are showers at this campground. In case you like comfort, there are pleasant       cabins at this campground. Don't forget your fishing pole because fishing here at Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost is perfect . There's a store here where you can purchase things you require, and this campground is a good location   for boating. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, you've gotta get out; Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost is a tremendous local campground if you happen to be in Alaska. Even though there's not that many fun things to do close to Chicken Gold Camp & Outpost, campgrounds like these are tremendous. The tremendous folks who control this spot and all the magnificent passtime activities have a lot of people coming here.   AMENITIES Tent camping is available - Tent camping available in developed sites in a wooded area adjoining the RV park. Covered tenting also available for inclement weather. Cabins also available. RV hookups are available - 15 RV hookups - 20 amp service with water and dump stations available Pets are allowed Campfires are allowed - Fire rings and FREE firewood available for all campers. No grocery store nearby No pool Game Room - Indoor seating for card and table games; outdoor games include horse shoes and ''Montana golf''. Restaurant(s) nearby - Onsite cafe serving fresh baked goods, home made breakfast and lunch entrees, barbecued chicken and salmon dinners with an espresso, ice cream & soda bar, beer/wine; indoor and outdoor seating. Nearby attractions - The Pedro Dredge and FE gold camp, National Historic Sites, are both located on the premises and open for tours or FREE viewing from outside. The Two other dredges, a ghost town, operating gold mine and Wild & Scenic River are all within walking distance of the resort. Recreational gold mining on over 600 acres of claims, suction dredging on river claims, gold panning at stand up troughs in the campground. Lessons and equipment rentals available.
