Quite a lot of cool stuff to do close to Pete Dahl
Cabin, and what a tremendous place for camping it is. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Campbell Creek, and there's good hiking along the Bull Rock Trail. Pete Dahl Cabin is a location that is reasonably dried out mostly; September is when you get the most rain here;
April is when it's the driest.
You really can't be in a building every day; you have to get out of the house sometimes, and Pete Dahl Cabin in Alaska is a tremendous choice. You could also take a look at O'Connell Lake while you're here at Pete Dahl Cabin; it's close by, and Hilltop is a very popular ski area around here.
