Little Shaheen - Tongass National Forest, Alaska Custom Search   The positive atmosphere and all the exciting things to do have a lot of folks coming here. A visit to Alaska is not complete without some camping. You shouldn't spend too much time indoors; you have to get out sometimes, and Little Shaheen in Alaska is a really great spot to spend some time. The surroundings of this campground have such a vast number of things to offer. Here at Little Shaheen you can spot Ward Mountain, and you are next to Charcoal Point while you're here. Several folks choose this campground to be near Black Sand Beach.     Carlanna Creek is in the vicinity of Little Shaheen and is always a pleasure to have a look at. A pretty lake like Carlanna Lake near Little Shaheen is a good site to take a look at; at Little Shaheen you always meet someone from Ketchikan. Not far from Little Shaheen you get some great water scenery at Carlanna Lake Dam, and if you want to hit the beach, Black Sand Beach is around here. While there's not a great deal to do next to Little Shaheen camping is such a fun thing to do, and this is a great spot to do that. Little Shaheen is frequently visited by folks in Ketchikan. During the warm months at Little Shaheen highs are generally in the 60's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures   at Little Shaheen dip into the 20's. Little Shaheen gets a good deal of water; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; July on the other hand is the driest.
