Last Chance - Tongass National Forest, Alaska   There's not a lot to do in the vicinity of Last Chance but it indisputably is a delightful campground. Last Chance is a reasonably wet place usually with a large amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly October, that's the one that rains the most; July is when it's the driest. Last Chance is a place with many visitors from Ketchikan, and Carlanna Lake Dam has fine water scenery. Outdoors people generally like this segment of Alaska. Beaches are glorious; and Black Sand Beach in the vicinity of Last Chance is no exception.     Summertime highs at Last Chance ordinarily tend to be in the 60's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Last Chance dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This campground has so many entertaining things to offer. A lake close by is Carlanna Lake; Charcoal Point is rather close. The pleasant people working here and the tremendous large amount of fun activities are reason enough to come here. At Last Chance you can see Ward Mountain, and swing by Carlanna Creek it's a fine location to stop at. Loads of folks stay at Last Chance for the purpose of being in close proximity to Black Sand Beach.
