Helm Bay - Tongass National Forest, Alaska   Helm Bay is a very popular campground with folks of Ketchikan. A great beach in the vicinity of Helm Bay is Black Sand Beach, and a visit to close by Charcoal Point is very relaxing. The accommodating operators of the campground and all the amusing things to do makes the journey here worthwhile. Not far from Helm Bay, you'll locate Carlanna Lake which is a stunning lake. We should all go camping occasionally, and Helm Bay in Alaska is a really good location to spend some time. Scores of folks stay at this campground when going to Black Sand Beach.     This is such a good campground. Very delightful water scenery is available at Carlanna Lake Dam near Helm Bay; the view of pretty Ward Mountain is good. Here at Helm Bay there are plenty of people from Ketchikan, and hey, Carlanna Creek is a wonderful local stream. As long as you love the outdoors you will love Alaska. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Helm Bay; the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Helm Bay are in the 20's.
