All the happy people and the loveliness of the place makes the trip here worthwhile. The high level of rainfall makes Gut Island #1 a quite wet location; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. A number of people camp here when they come to visit Black Sand Beach. Charcoal Point
| is nearby and always good to take a look at; let's not forget Carlanna Creek which is a stream that you may run into while you're here.
For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Gut Island #1 reach the 60's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Gut Island #1. This campground is so great. Gut Island #1 is not far at all from Ketchikan. Lakes are splendid; Carlanna Lake is a lake that's near Gut Island #1.
