Essowah Lake - Tongass National Forest, Alaska   The folks who take care of the campground and the capably run operations have folks coming from near and far. Essowah Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is October, and July is the month with the least moisture. Ok, you've been cooped up for too much time, you've gotta get out; Essowah Lake, Alaska is a great place for getting out. Nothing beats kicking back at Black Sand Beach. This is a great campground. You get a fine view of Ward Mountain from Essowah Lake, and Carlanna Lake Dam has good water scenery.     Charcoal Point is near Essowah Lake and is a delightful location to stop by; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Ketchikan. Though there's little to do in the vicinity of Essowah Lake it is one of many great campgrounds in this area. Some folks opt for Essowah Lake to be next to Black Sand Beach. Carlanna Creek is near Essowah Lake and is always a diversion to go to, and there are other places here than Essowah Lake, for example Carlanna Lake. A visit to Alaska is not complete without some camping. High temperatures at Essowah Lake throughout the warm months are in the 60's while night lows are typically in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's while Essowah Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.
